This session explores the evolution of CO2 storage from a subsurface capacity problem to an integrated engineering system, covering capture-to-storage integration, transport and injection performance, geomechanics and caprock integrity, multiphase flow, and advanced modeling for regulatory and operational assurance. Case studies, experiments, and next-generation simulation and data-driven methods illustrate how multidisciplinary engineering enables safe, scalable, commercial-scale CCUS.
