Leveraging Technical Excellence and Innovation for Complex Wells: Geothermal, CCUS and MPD
Friday, 23 October
Room 371 CF
Technical and Invited Presenter
As the industry expands beyond conventional oil and gas, established drilling expertise combined with innovation in research and technologies are being leveraged to address new challenges, improve performance, mitigate risks and unlock wells previously considered high-risk or uneconomic. This session explores how advanced pressure management, drilling optimization, well integrity practices, and digital innovation can be applied across deepwater, depleted formations, unconventional resources, geothermal wells, and repurposed CCUS assets. Topics include bottomhole pressure management, in narrow-window drilling, unexpected hazard detection and recovery, casing wear evaluation in legacy wells, drillstring vibration mitigation, sustainable geothermal well materials, and autonomous AI-enabled MPD control.
