Angie Contreras is an engineering consultant and project manager with more than 23 years of experience in drilling, completions, production operations, and carbon capture and storage. In recent years she has specialized in the engineering design of Class VI injection, monitoring, and stratigraphic wells, including completion architecture, casing and tubing design, material selection, corrosion mitigation, and well-integrity evaluation for CO₂ service. Her expertise includes legacy well assessment, risk classification, remediation planning, and the development of workover, plugging, and corrective-action programs to protect storage integrity. She has led multidisciplinary CCS projects involving monitoring and MRV strategies, emergency response planning, CAPEX and OPEX estimations, and field development plans. She also has extensive experience managing regulatory programs, coordinating permit applications and agency responses, and supporting Class VI permitting. She has coordinated agency responses, managed regulatory commitments and project interfaces, and worked across engineering, geoscience, operations, land, legal, environmental, and commercial teams to advance projects through critical decision and permitting milestones.
