Asiya Abbasi is Chair of the SPE Stavanger Young Professionals and has been an active SPE member since 2013, contributing to the Society from her student years through her professional career. She has presented multiple technical papers, competed successfully in SPE contests, and recently completed Norway's first SPE Beyond the Borders program.

A Principal Technical Professional at Halliburton Baroid, Abbasi has 11 years of international oil and gas experience across Pakistan, Africa, and Norway. She began her career as Pakistan's first female drilling fluids engineer at Halliburton, paving the way for greater diversity in the industry. Her technical leadership, mentorship, and commitment to SPE and the energy community were recognized with Halliburton's Global Woman of the Year and Europe & Norway Woman of the Year awards.
