Chijioke Ibeh is an Advisor in Chevron’s P&O team and Co-Chair of the SPE Data Science and Engineering Analytics Technical Section (DSEATS) Africa Region. He has more than 20 years of experience across drilling, production, reservoir engineering, and digital transformation, with a career spanning Baker Hughes and Chevron assignments in Nigeria and the United States. Ibeh began as a drilling engineer after graduating with a first-class degree in Civil Engineering from the Federal University of Technology Owerri. He later earned a master’s degree in Petroleum Engineering from Texas A&M University and a master’s degree in Computer Science from Rice University. His expertise includes CO2 flooding, intelligent well systems, machine learning, artificial intelligence, and production surveillance digitalization. He is pursuing a doctoral degree in AI and machine learning and received SPE’s 2025 Regional Data Science and Engineering Analytics Award for Africa. He is also an SPE contributor, peer reviewer, mentor, and digital transformation advocate.
