Drew Pomerantz

Director, Carbon Containment Lab

Drew Pomerantz is a director at the Carbon Containment Lab, an environmental nonprofit organization based in Connecticut. He leads research measuring methane emissions from end-of-life wells and developing methods to quantify the emissions reductions achieved through well plugging. Before joining the lab, Pomerantz spent 20 years at SLB, where he founded the company’s business line focused on methane-emissions measurement and mitigation. He has 10 years of specialized methane experience and has served as an SPE Distinguished Lecturer on methane emissions. Pomerantz has authored more than 100 peer-reviewed technical papers and holds 40 granted US patents. He earned BS and MS degrees in chemistry from Yale University and a PhD in chemical physics from Stanford University.
