Dwayne Purvis
Dwayne Purvis, PE, is founder and principal advisor of Purvis Energy Advisors. He has more than 30 years of experience as a petroleum engineer, entrepreneur, and oil industry executive, addressing reservoir engineering and strategic questions for executives, owners, litigants, oil companies, and nongovernmental organizations. Purvis previously worked for a reserves-certification firm, pioneered shale-reservoir analysis, served as engineering manager for a private producer, and operated oil and gas wells. He also teaches industry courses, has served as an adjunct professor at Texas Christian University, and contributes to public discussion of the industry’s role in the energy transition. Purvis is a registered professional engineer and earned a master’s degree in sustainable energy from Johns Hopkins University.
