Greg Stephenson is chief production engineer at Occidental Petroleum (Oxy), with functional responsibility for the production engineering discipline. He leads technical work, career development, staffing, and service for the discipline, including Oxy's Engineering Development Program for recent engineering graduates. Stephenson has more than 30 years of experience and is an industry-recognized artificial-lift specialist who has taught courses worldwide and authored numerous technical publications. He serves as SPE Production and Facilities technical director and has supported SPE as an author, peer reviewer, conference chair, JPT technical reviewer, and associate editor for SPE Production & Operations. Stephenson also serves on the Artificial Lift Research and Development Council board and is immediate past chair of API Task Group 19G. He holds a BS in petroleum engineering from Texas Tech University.
