Steven is the Director of Software Development and Controls Engineering at Helmerich & Payne, where he leads a global team delivering integrated digital and automation solutions for the oil and gas services industry. In his 15-year career with H&P, Steven has held a wide range of leadership roles across operations, technology, and corporate strategy — from frontline engineering and drilling supervision to managing international digital operations and post-acquisition integrations.

Before his current role, Steven served as Director of Global Digital Operations, overseeing the company’s newest segment in digital and remote drilling services, with teams across seven countries serving all major markets. Steven holds an Executive MBA from the MIT Sloan School of Management and a double major in Physics and Agricultural & Biosystems Engineering from North Dakota State University. He is a U.S. Navy veteran, having served from 2004 to 2010.
