Next-Generation Fluids: Sustainable Solutions and Performance Optimization

Wednesday, 22 October
Room 322
Technical Session
Today’s drilling operations face increasing technical challenges—from complex downhole environments and extended reach drilling to sustainable fluid design and wellbore stability. This session presents cutting-edge research and field applications that address these complexities. Topics include enzyme-based stuck pipe remediation techniques applied in harsh downhole conditions, and delayed oxidative activation methods for controlled filter cake removal. Additional presentations challenge conventional thinking around ROP performance, emphasizing the critical role of solids management. Attendees will also explore mechanical and hydraulic simulation integration to optimize extended reach drilling, as well as the development of high-performance, environmentally responsible water-based fluids tailored for deep coalbed methane reservoirs and sensitive ecosystems. This session delivers practical, field-tested innovations designed to improve drilling efficiency, stability, and sustainability.
