Production Testing and Surveillance

Thursday, 22 October
Room 361 BECF
Technical Session
This session explores new horizons in production diagnostics by showcasing innovative solutions that redefine how wells are monitored, interpreted and managed under increasing complexity. The papers present breakthrough downhole sensing concepts such as wireless acoustic waveguides, unified inflow-performance frameworks that extract reservoir insight from sparse tests and integrated production logging workflows that resolve ambiguity near the wellbore. Several contributions push beyond traditional measurement through physics based virtual metering and advanced waveform processing to deliver reliable rate or holdup estimates where data is limited. Additional studies demonstrate how distributed temperature or acoustic sensing, paired with simulation, provides decisive insight during high risk operational events. Together, these works highlight a decisive shift toward smarter, continuously informed surveillance that expands technical boundaries while enabling more resilient, lower uncertainty production decisions across diverse asset types.
